Final project

An authentic assessment of your learning

We are not so interested in knowing if you can answer a series of questions or memorize a large amount of data. We are far more interested in your ability to do what you have learned in this course. The final project is designed so that you can demonstrate your ability to put into practice what you have learned from the material that we have studied over the 10 week course.

Some time towards the middle of the course you will be thinking of what you want to demonstrate and how you are going to do so. We recommend that you collect the resources that you will use in this project as you work through the course. In this way you will not be rushing to complete your final assignment at the very end.

These assignments are designed to provide you with something you can and will implement with your team to get immediate positive results from what you have learned. As you do the assignments, you will be creating a framework for implementation with your team of what you have learned.

Assessment task one

Develop and present a plan of action on how you will build your team using what you have learned during this course. Include the format of specific conversations that you will facilitate to build your learning community. Will these be a series of town hall meetings? A series of coaching conversations? A series of team building meetings? You consider what you would like to implement to get the greatest positive gain in your team. The format of your presentation is open. What has meaning to you? You can provide a written, theatrical, artistic, dramatic,  presentation.

Assessment task two

After you finish your plan of action, bring in the final project for peer review. During this process during the last workshop, we will provide copies of our plan to a couple others in the workshop and those people will review your plan and make suggestions. You will adjust your plan after the peer review and make the changes you choose to make.

Assessment task three

You will implement your plan after the program and then come back for debrief in a group setting to include conversations about how to improve the results of the effort, share learning with each other, and teach each other about what you have learned. We will come together in conversation about a month after the course to share.
