Introduction

I can only describe the start of my journey as a combination of exhilaration and terror. The graduate school at OSU did not believe I was capable of doing graduate level work, I suffered from a lack of confidence in my abilities in the field, and I was moving into a field in which I had little experience. On top of that, I started on probation, and made a career change to the dot.com industry immediately after starting the program. The move to the dot.com industry also started the downward slide of my old career in sales and marketing management.
